Ways to Support the PTA

There are opportunities to join the PTA not only as a member but as a Secretary or Committee Chair of various committees for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year.

Class Parent Leaders

Become a Class Parent Leader! A class parent leader is a leader that creates a bridge between parents, teachers, and the rest of the school community by representing your child's class parents group. They will help communicate, organize, engage, and participate in their child’s education by creating and fostering a safe and respectful learning environment. They will work towards one purpose and that is to provide the tools necessary for success for their child and their peers.

We are continuing our robust DWS WhatsApp Community chats to keep in touch with your fellow parents and community. Be ready to confirm your kiddo is a DWS student to join.

Newly Renamed DWS & TRS PTA Outdoor Adventure Club

Next event: Saturday, October 11 @3-4:30pm approximately
Rain date: Monday, October 13, 2025 @ 11AM
Max capacity: 20 children, and, ideally, 1 adult per child

Tenafly Nature Center, Tenafly, NJ

Join the DWS & TRS PTA Outdoor Adventure Club for our first outing of the school year! This outing will be a little different with an animal encounter at the Tenafly Nature Center in addition to a group hike.

Trail Guidelines

Trails are open for passive recreation only (e.g. hiking, walking, running, jogging, and birding).
No pets (e.g. dogs) or bicycles allowed.
Trails are open to the public daily, one hour after sunrise until one hour prior to sunset.
Please be respectful and keep loud voices and noises to a minimum.
Leave No Trace — Carry-In, Carry-Out – Take all trash with you.
Composting restroom is available for all visitors.
A picnic table area (located near the upper Yellow Trail) is available for use by families and small groups. No grills or cooking allowed.

MUST BRING WEARABLE CARRIER FOR KIDS 2 AND UNDER.

Meeting place & additional information will be emailed to you before the hike.

Space is limited to 20 children/20 adults, with preference given to PTA members. (Sign-up for PTA here: https://dws.givebacks.com/shop. Please only sign-up if you're sure to come. Thank you!
